Established in 2000, SSCDS offers Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programs across nine specializations, welcoming 100 undergraduates and 45 postgraduates each year. The college is recognized as a nodal center for distance education in Implantology by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and has been at the forefront of Continuing Dental Education since 2008. The campus features a modern auditorium, well-equipped laboratories, lecture and seminar halls, an extensive library with international journals, and separate residential facilities for students and faculty. Amenities such as reading rooms, internet and WiFi access, gym, and recreation spaces support a vibrant, academically focused environment with strong clinical exposure.Role Description Readers and Professors in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery will provide high-quality academic instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate students, including delivering lectures, demonstrations, and chairside teaching. They will supervise clinical work, guide diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and institutional protocols. The role includes mentoring students and junior faculty, supervising dissertations and research projects, and contributing to curriculum development and academic planning. Faculty members will participate in departmental meetings, examination and evaluation processes, Continuing Dental Education programs, and collaborative activities with other specialties. This is a full-time, on-site role based near Hyderabad, requiring regular presence on campus for teaching, clinical responsibilities, and institutional activities.QualificationsRecognized MDS degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from an accredited institution, with eligibility as per relevant regulatory and university norms.Strong clinical expertise in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including diagnostic skills, surgical planning, operative procedures, and post-operative care.Demonstrated academic experience in teaching dental students, with skills in curriculum delivery, lecture preparation, clinical demonstrations, and student mentoring.Research-oriented mindset, with experience in clinical or academic research, scientific writing, publications in peer-reviewed journals, and supervision of dissertations.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and engage respectfully with students, colleagues, and patients.Commitment to ethical practice, student-centered learning, continuous professional development, and participation in Continuing Dental Education activities.Administrative and organizational abilities to support departmental management, academic coordination, and participation in institutional committees.Prior experience as Reader or Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
