Patients benefit from access to advanced LASIK, cataract surgery options, and premium intraocular lenses, including Symfony, ReSTOR, Tecnis Multifocal, and Crystalens implants.Role Description The Refractive Surgery Coordinator is a full-time, on-site position located in Hurst, TX. This role coordinates all aspects of refractive surgery patient flow, including scheduling consultations and procedures, confirming appointments, and managing pre- and post-operative visits. The coordinator educates patients about refractive surgery options, sets expectations, and reviews pre-operative instructions and post-operative care requirements. Daily responsibilities include preparing charts, verifying insurance as applicable, processing payments or financing arrangements, and maintaining accurate documentation within practice systems. The coordinator works closely with surgeons, technicians, and front office staff to ensure a smooth surgical experience, supports patient communication via phone and email, and assists with maintaining high standards of patient service and clinic efficiency.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong patient-facing skills, including clear communication, empathetic customer service, and the ability to explain clinical and surgical information in an accessible way.Candidates should possess organizational and administrative skills such as appointment scheduling, medical record management, and attention to detail in documentation and follow-up.Candidates should possess basic clinical support skills, including familiarity with refractive surgery and cataract procedures, pre- and post-operative protocols, and general ophthalmology terminology.Candidates should possess proficiency with computer systems and practice management software, including data entry, email communication, and use of electronic scheduling tools.Candidates should possess problem-solving and coordination skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize patient needs, and collaborate effectively with surgeons and clinical staff.Previous experience in ophthalmology, optometry, or a surgical specialty practice is preferred; experience in refractive surgery coordination or similar roles is a plus.High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in medical assisting, healthcare administration, or a related field is beneficial.Ability to work on-site in Hurst, TX, maintain confidentiality of patient information, and uphold safety and quality standards in a fast-paced clinical environment.
