Regional Accounting Manager - Finance

AKI is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our Regional Accounting team, a high-impact, financial controller-style role with real ownership. You will be the driving force behind accounting quality, financial control and reporting across multiple regional entities, working with finance teams across the region and leading a team of Accountants.About the roleThe Accounting Manager, Regional Accounting is a key leadership role within Group Finance, driving high-quality accounting, financial reporting and controllership across AKI's regional entities. You will provide strong technical accounting leadership, ensure a timely and accurate month-end and year-end close, maintain robust balance sheet governance, and ensure compliance with IFRS, local statutory requirements and Group accounting policies.As the principal accounting partner for regional finance teams, you will bring consistency, discipline and strong financial control across jurisdictions. This is a financial controller-type role for a hands-on, professionally qualified accountant who can challenge the numbers, resolve complex accounting matters, lead audits and close processes, and raise the standard of accounting across the region. You will lead a team of 3 to 5 Accountants and report to the Senior Accounting Manager.What you'll bring10 to 15 years in accounting or controllership, ideally, with meaningful management responsibilityFully qualified CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent (mandatory)Experience overseeing multiple entities, preferably across multiple countries, ideally in the Middle EastVery strong IFRS, statutory reporting, GL, balance sheet and complex accounting skills (GAAP is acceptable)Strong ownership of month-end, quarter-end and year-end closeExperience in balance sheet reconciliations, provisions and accruals, ageing, intercompany, audit and control remediationExperience managing external auditsSolid understanding of GL, AP, AR and fixed assets (mandatory)Strong ERP background, with Oracle highly preferredExperience leading and coaching accounting teams and working with regional finance stakeholdersA hands-on, technically strong approach, able to challenge numbers rather than simply consolidate country reportsAdvantageousBig Four background and/or experience in a strong controllership environmentExperience in a sizeable, complex multi-entity business such as distribution, FMCG, healthcare, retail or logisticsWork LocationAKI Dubai Offices
