Location: Los Angeles, CA | Denver, CO | Seattle, WAEmployment Type: Full-Time, Direct HireSalary: $160,000–$190,000 Base + Competitive EquityTravel: 60–80% to manufacturing facilitiesAbout the RoleWe are partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturing and technology company seeking an experienced Principal Compliance Leader to oversee regulatory compliance across its expanding portfolio of manufacturing facilities.The organization specializes in acquiring and modernizing precision manufacturing operations serving the aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors.This is a hands-on leadership opportunity focused on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), export controls (ITAR/EAR), and defense cybersecurity compliance, with workplace safety serving as the primary focus.The ideal candidate will have strong experience implementing compliance programs within manufacturing environments, managing regulatory risks, and working directly with facility leadership to establish safe, compliant, andefficient operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead regulatory compliance initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities, with a primary focus on EHS and workplace safety.Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory compliance policies.Conduct facility audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action planning.Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, environmental, and workplace safety regulations.Assess export control requirements, including ITAR and EAR, and coordinate compliance improvements.Partner with technical teams to address defense cybersecurity requirements, including CMMC, NIST, and DFARS.Support compliance due diligence and integration of newly acquired manufacturing facilities.Work closely with manufacturing leadership to identify operational risks and implement practical solutions.Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and support inspections, audits, and reporting requirements.Establish consistent compliance processes, training programs, and performance tracking across multiple sites.Required Qualifications7+ years of experience in EHS, regulatory compliance, export controls, or related compliance functions.Strong background in manufacturing or industrial operations, preferably within aerospace or defense.Demonstrated expertise in at least one major compliance area: EHS/workplace safety, ITAR/EAR export controls, or defense cybersecurity.Experience conducting regulatory audits, risk assessments, and implementing corrective actions.Proven ability to develop and execute compliance programs within active manufacturing facilities.Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and experience interacting with regulatory agencies.Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Ability and willingness to travel approximately 60–80%.U.S. citizenship required due to applicable export control requirements.Preferred QualificationsAerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing industry experience.Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS program management.Experience overseeing compliance across multiple manufacturing facilities.Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, CMMC 2.0, NIST SP 800-171, or DFARS.Experience supporting acquisitions, facility integrations, or operational transformations.Relevant certifications such as CSP, CHMM, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.Why Consider This Opportunity?This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role within a growing organization that is transforming American manufacturing through advanced technology, automation, and operational innovation.The selected candidate will have the opportunity to build scalable compliance programs, influence safety and regulatory strategy, and work directly with leadership across a growing network of manufacturing facilities.
