Apply & track with Apply EdgeResponsibilities will include accounting and other special projects assigned by executive management from time to time and are summarized below.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist multiple Regional Directors in directing the business process of the region in accordance with corporate policies.Manage, review and assist with the monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results.Reviews and documents analysis of project estimates on lump sum contracts to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principlesManage, review and assist with providing data to multiple Regional Directors and other operational personnel on operating costs data, including productivity reporting, equipment & labor utilization, per diem spend, and other back office and operational indirect expenses.Supports Operations in preparation of monthly business review meeting by helping to prepare explanations of variances to budget and forecast.Responsible for holding monthly major project reviews with Project Managers and document explanations of variances to bid.Understand contract terms and conditions, be knowledgeable of contractual requirements, and recognize discrepanciesOverall responsibility of the billing and collections function of the region.Provide leadership and mentoring for Billing Specialists. Develop procedures and streamline processes that results in an improved collection cycle.Responsible for the set-up of new Reporting Groups, including standard back office and field indirect job set up.Document and standardize transaction processes. Review and recommend process improvements.Assist with special projects as requested by Corporate and Regional Management.Assist with financial system implementation and upgrades.Establish and monitor key project performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, earned value metrics, cost performance index (CPI), margin erosion.Partner with operations leadership to identify potential cost overruns, schedule impacts, labor productivity issues, and commercial risks before they materially affect performance.Provide executive-level reporting and analysis of region financial performance, risk exposure, backlog performance, and forecasted outcomes.Coordinate with estimating, operations, procurement, and project management teams during project startup, execution, and closeout phases.Review contract terms and commercial provisions to identify financial, operational, and contractual risks.Develop project cash flow projections and monitor billing, collections, retention, and working capital performance.Participate in bid reviews and project pursuit evaluations by assessing financial risk, project assumptions, and profit objectives.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.CPA, CMA, MBA, CCP (Certified Cost Professional), EVP (Earned Value Professional), or similar certification preferred.7-10+ years of progressive experience in finance, project controls, construction accounting, or large construction project management.Direct experience supporting EPC, utility, infrastructure, transmission, heavy civil, industrial, or large-scale construction projects.Strong understanding of:Construction accountingCost control systemsEarned Value Management (EVM)Forecasting and budgetingChange order managementRisk managementContract administrationWork-in-progress (WIP) reportingAdvanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities.Experience with ERP and project management systems (Vista, Oracle, Power BI, etc.).Strong executive communication and presentation skills.Ability to influence operational leaders and drive financial accountability across project teams.Mastec Power Delivery is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities
