Regional Financial Controller

About the opportunityWe are seeking an experienced Regional Financial Controller to lead the financial governance, reporting, and controllership agenda across a large and complex EMEA operation. This is a high-impact leadership role within an international organization, offering significant exposure to executive stakeholders and the opportunity to shape the future of finance through process optimization, systems enhancement, and transformation initiatives.The successful candidate will oversee a broad and diverse regional footprint, partnering closely with business leaders and global finance teams to deliver accurate reporting, strong governance, operational insight, and sustainable financial controls.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial leadership & governanceLead the regional controllership function across multiple countries and legal entities throughout EMEA.Ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting in accordance with local and group requirements.Own the month-end close, consolidation process, balance sheet integrity, cash flow reporting, and statutory compliance activities.Drive a robust internal control environment, supporting governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance initiatives.Business partnership & strategic supportAct as a trusted finance advisor to senior leadership, providing insight into financial performance, working capital, cash flow, and business risks.Partner closely with FP&A, Shared Services, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and operational leadership to support business decision-making.Translate operational and commercial activities into meaningful financial outcomes and recommendations.Transformation & continuous improvementLead initiatives to enhance reporting quality, process efficiency, and data integrity across a multi-system environment.Champion finance transformation programs, including automation, digitalization, and emerging technologies.Standardize processes and controls while promoting best practices across the regional organization.Support the implementation and optimization of finance systems, close-management tools, and reporting platforms.Team & capability developmentBuild and develop a high-performing controllership network across the region.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.Coach, mentor, and empower finance professionals to achieve both individual and organizational success.Candidate profileExperience10+ years of progressive finance experience within a multinational and matrixed environment.Significant experience in financial controllership, regional finance leadership, or corporate accounting roles.Strong expertise in:Financial and management reportingConsolidation and close processesBalance sheet managementStatutory accounting and complianceInternal controls and risk managementAudit coordinationCash flow and working capital managementExperience working in complex ERP and data environments, with a track record of driving improvements and transformation.Exposure to industrial, manufacturing, supply chain, or operationally intensive businesses is advantageous.Skills & competenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail.Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives.Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of how operational performance impacts financial results.Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving, and complex environments.Fluent in English; additional European languages are considered a plus.Leadership attributesWe are looking for a finance leader who:Takes ownership and delivers results with a high level of accountability.Combines strategic thinking with a hands-on, pragmatic approach.Has the confidence to challenge constructively and drive positive change.Excels at building relationships across functions, geographies, and cultures.Brings clarity and structure to complex situations.Embraces innovation, automation, and data-driven decision making.Inspires and develops teams through visible, authentic leadership.Why this role?This is an opportunity to join a globally operating organization at a pivotal stage of growth and transformation.
