This role evaluates nutrition services, delivers medical nutrition therapy, and supports community health initiatives across the region.What You’ll DoAssign supplemental food packages and certify eligible WIC participants in accordance with program guidelinesDevelop, document, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans and provide medical nutrition therapyAssess nutrition data, identify risk factors, and counsel clients on behavior changeDetermine client eligibility for WIC and therapeutic nutrition productsPerform key health calculations (BMI, gestational age, nutrition intake, due date) and document findings in medical recordsProvide education on breastfeeding, diabetes management, and healthy lifestyle behaviors using varied teaching tools and mediaServe as a nutrition expert on multi‑agency committees and represent the program in community outreach activitiesMaintain required continuing education and participate in ongoing training to stay current on best practicesSupport team performance by offering feedback, addressing misunderstandings, and evaluating work according to program standardsQualificationsActive registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic RegistrationAND– One year of full‑time professional nutrition experience (before or after obtaining RD)OR– Master’s degree in human nutrition, dietetics, public health, or a related field and active RD registrationWhat We’re Looking ForStrong clinical nutrition knowledge and counseling skillsAbility to communicate complex nutrition concepts in a clear, supportive wayExperience working with diverse populationsCommitment to public health, maternal/child health, and community wellnessStrong documentation and organizational abilitiesWhy Join Us?You’ll play a meaningful role in improving nutrition, supporting families, and advancing community health across Tennessee.
