Ohana Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and provide dedicated support for surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures.This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who wants to fully utilize their skillset with autonomy, trust, and support in a fast-paced, collaborative general practice environment. From induction through recovery, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, high-quality patient care alongside a veterinary team that values skilled technicians.In this position, you will take an active role in:Coordinating surgical and dental procedure schedulesCalculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosagesInducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patientsAssisting veterinarians during surgical proceduresPerforming dental prophylaxis and dental radiographyMonitoring patient recovery and ongoing procedural careGuiding clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassionSchedule And CompensationCompensation: $24 - $32 per hour, for each hour workedThis is a flexible, full-time position, with either a 5/8, or a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday.Full-time Benefits Package*:Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of CaliforniaCE allowance: $500-$1,000 based on tenure and credentialsHealth package: Medical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurance and disabilityEmployee Assistance Program401k with company matchPaid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable lawPersonal pet discountUniform allowancePart-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state lawMinimum Qualifications And Skill Set 3+ years of veterinary technician experienceActive and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California**Proficiency in the following skills:Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoringAnesthetic induction, monitoring, and recoverySurgical assistance and aseptic techniqueDental prophylaxis and dental radiographyVenipuncture and intravenous catheter placementRadiology positioning and safety protocolsClient education and communicationAbility to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environmentStrong critical thinking and attention to detailEffective teamwork and professional communication skillsCommitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learningRecent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to applyWhy choose Ohana Pet Hospital?Ohana Pet Hospital in Ventura is a 14-doctor practice with 2 credentialed technicians caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, and some reptiles. The hospital sees a mix of general practice, surgery, urgent care, limited exotic medicine, rehabilitation, and holistic medicine, with RVTs heavily utilized in surgery and access to ophthalmology expertise.
