Come join us!Position Summary: The Relationship Banker builds and strengthens relationships with consumer and business customers by providing personalized service, understanding their financial goals, and recommending appropriate banking solutions. This position combines customer service, needs-based sales, account opening and servicing, transaction processing, digital banking education, and proactive follow-up. The Relationship Banker takes ownership of customer needs, collaborates with internal partners, and supports the Bank's relationship growth, retention, service, operational, and compliance goals.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain trusted relationships with new and existing consumer and business customers through personalized service, proactive outreach, and timely follow-up.Engage customers in need-based conversations to understand their financial goals, banking needs, and preferred service channels.Present and recommend appropriate banking products, services, and digital solutions based on identified customer needs.Open, maintain, and service consumer and business deposit accounts in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Process routine banking transactions accurately, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan and credit card payments, check cashing, and other account-related transactions.Educate customers on online banking, mobile banking, electronic statements, debit card features, and other self-service banking tools.Identify lending, business banking, mortgage, and other financial needs and make effective introductions to authorized internal partners.Take ownership of customer questions, concerns, and service requests; resolve issues within established authority and escalate when appropriate.Maintain accurate documentation related to customer interactions, account activity, referrals, and account maintenance.Participate in community networking groups, business development activities, and bank-sponsored events.Maintain current knowledge of Bank products, services, systems, procedures, and promotional initiatives.Contribute to branch service, relationship growth, customer retention, and operational goals.Perform additional duties as assigned.Experience:Previous banking experience preferred.Sales, customer service, retail banking, or financial services experience preferred.Experience opening and servicing consumer and business accounts preferred.Experience building customer relationships, assessing customer needs, and recommending preferred solutions.Working knowledge of retail banking practices, products, services, rules, and regulations.Understanding of banking products, services, and digital banking platforms.Skills:Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong needs assessment, consultative sales, referral, and follow-up skills.Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).Ability to learn and effectively use banking systems, digital banking platforms, and customer relationship management tools.Strong sales and negotiation skills.Granite Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer Note: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
