Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole Description This part-time, remote Reliability Manager role focuses on improving and sustaining the reliability of systems, processes, and critical utilities within life sciences operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing reliability data, identifying failure modes, and recommending preventive and corrective actions to reduce downtime and risk. The Reliability Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams in validation, quality, engineering, and supply chain to develop reliability plans, maintenance strategies, and performance metrics. Additional tasks include documenting methodologies and findings, supporting audits or client reviews, and providing technical guidance and training to internal and external stakeholders. The role requires proactive communication with clients and internal teams to ensure reliability initiatives are aligned with regulatory requirements and business objectives.QualificationsStrong background in reliability engineering, asset management, or maintenance strategy within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or related regulated industries.Experience with reliability analysis tools and methods (e.g., FMEA, RCM, root cause analysis, reliability-centered maintenance, statistical analysis of failures).Knowledge of validation and qualification practices, quality systems (QA), and regulatory compliance frameworks applicable to GMP/GxP environments.Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes, as well as critical utilities engineering (e.g., HVAC, purified water, compressed air, clean utilities) and their impact on reliability.Proficiency in technical documentation, report writing, and the development of procedures, SOPs, and reliability standards.Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple projects part-time, and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications in reliability or maintenance (e.g., CMRP, CRE) are a plus.Comfort with using digital tools and data systems for reliability tracking, performance monitoring, and project collaboration.Fluent in written and spoken English; additional language skills and prior consulting experience are advantageous.
