The organization serves ambitious students and families across the U.S. who seek results beyond “good enough” and value a high-performance, supportive learning environment.Role Description This full-time Remote Ivy League Tutor (U.S. Only) role focuses on delivering individualized SAT, ACT, and academic support to high school students through live online sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include teaching test-taking strategies and core content, designing personalized lesson plans, assigning and reviewing practice work, and tracking student progress against clear score and admissions goals. The tutor will provide ongoing mentorship on study habits, time management, and confidence-building, while supporting students with college application guidance and academic planning as needed. The role also requires regular communication with families, participation in virtual masterclasses or group sessions, and collaboration with the broader Ignite Test Prep team to refine curriculum and share best practices. All work is conducted remotely, using digital tools and platforms to create an engaging, structured, and motivating learning experience.Qualifications Demonstrated mastery of standardized tests (e.g., top-percentile SAT/ACT scores) and strong academic achievement from an Ivy League or comparably selective institution.Experience in one-on-one tutoring or teaching, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt instruction to different learning styles.Skill in building rapport with students, providing mentorship, and fostering motivation, resilience, and confidence in a remote learning environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional communication with parents/guardians and effective feedback on student work.Comfort with remote work tools and educational technology (video conferencing, collaborative documents, learning platforms) and strong organizational and time-management skills.Knowledge of U.S. college admissions processes, including test-optional trends, application strategy, and extracurricular planning, is highly beneficial.Ability to maintain high standards of professionalism, reliability, and confidentiality while working with ambitious students and families across diverse backgrounds.Availability to work a full-time schedule that may include evenings and weekends to accommodate students in different time zones.
