ABDOS also operates a state-of-the-art quality control and microbiology laboratory to ensure products meet rigorous standards throughout their shelf life.Role Description The Research and Development Chemist is a full-time, on-site position based in Ain Sokhna. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing formulations for personal care products across categories such as skincare, haircare, oral care, baby care, and intimate care. Day-to-day activities include planning and conducting laboratory experiments, evaluating raw materials, performing stability and compatibility studies, and documenting results in accordance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. The chemist collaborates with production, quality control, and packaging teams to ensure formulations are scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with market needs. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting existing products, supporting customer projects, maintaining laboratory equipment, and contributing to continuous improvement in processes, safety, and quality.Qualifications Strong background in cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or industrial chemistry, with experience in formulating personal care products (e.g., emulsions, gels, surfactant systems).Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including analytical testing, stability testing, and compatibility studies, using standard lab instruments.Knowledge of FMCG manufacturing processes, scale-up from lab to production, and basic understanding of quality control, GMP, and safety regulations.Ability to conduct thorough technical research, interpret scientific literature, and translate findings into practical product development solutions.Effective documentation and reporting skills, including preparation of formulation records, test protocols, technical reports, and SOPs.Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot formulation and production issues.Collaborative mindset with good communication skills for working cross-functionally with R&D, QC, production, and commercial teams.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or related field; prior experience in cosmetic or personal care R&D is an advantage.Comfort working on-site in a laboratory and manufacturing environment in Ain Sokhna, with adherence to safety and hygiene
