Research And Development Engineer-Flat & VRLA (2W)

Key ResponsibilitiesManage and lead a Product Development team while coordinating with Marketing and Customers to understand application requirements and deliver effective technical solutions. Analyse product performance and recommend improvements for enhanced reliability and efficiency. Interpret 2D / 3D drawings of battery/cell components and assemblies for manufacturing & finalize Bill of Materials (BOM) . Identify, assess, and mitigate technical and design risks to ensure projects are completed within defined timelines and quality standards. Coordinate end-to-end NPD activities with Plant and Marketing teams, including planning, specification finalization, prototype development, validation, and product release. Collect customer and stakeholder feedback, identify improvement opportunities, and implement action plans to address gaps. Utilize SAP and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) for documentation, reporting, and project management. Travel as required to support project execution and customer interactions. Required Skills & QualificationsStrong leadership and team management skills. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and BOMs. Experience in product development, validation, and manufacturing coordination. Documentation and technical reporting skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Preferred QualificationEducational background B.Tech/ M.Tech/ M.Sc in ME, EE, CE.Hands-on experience with Lead-Acid battery design & process will be an added advantage.Proficiency in preparing DFMEA/ PFMEA / APQP documents
