It also manages the pre-approval stage of the UAE R&D Tax Credit, evaluating projects against qualifying R&D activity and expenditure criteria. Applicants join a mission-driven organization at the heart of the UAE’s innovation ecosystem.Role Description The Research and Development Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. The specialist will identify, design, and evaluate R&D projects aligned with national priorities, supporting stakeholders in formulating robust research proposals and development plans. Daily responsibilities include conducting rigorous research and analysis, reviewing technical documentation, and assessing projects against ERDC’s R&D criteria and the UAE R&D Tax Credit requirements. The role involves preparing clear reports and recommendations, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and engaging with external partners to clarify guidelines and promote best practices. The specialist will also contribute to policy inputs, process improvements, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that enhance the UAE’s overall R&D landscape.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Research and Development (R&D) skills, including experience in designing, executing, and evaluating R&D projects.Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills to interpret complex data, assess technical proposals, and apply R&D eligibility criteria.Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to prepare clear reports, present findings, and engage with diverse stakeholders.Candidates should possess solid Research abilities and, where relevant, Laboratory Skills appropriate to their scientific or technical discipline.Relevant academic background, such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in science, engineering, technology, or a related field.Experience in innovation policy, R&D funding programs, or tax credit schemes is an advantage.Strong attention to detail, ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, and commitment to ethical research practices.Familiarity with the UAE innovation ecosystem or comparable national R&D environments is beneficial.
