Company Description BRUDA-Begum Rokeya University Debate Association is the first and pioneer debate organization of Begum Rokeya University (BRUR), fostering a strong culture of critical thinking and public discourse. Established on August 8, 2013, the association has grown into a key platform for students interested in debate, research, and academic discussion. BRUDA organizes regular training sessions, competitions, and events that encourage participants to engage with contemporary issues. Joining BRUDA offers opportunities to collaborate with motivated peers, build research and communication skills, and contribute to the university’s intellectual community.Role Description The Research Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Khulna, Bangladesh, supporting BRUDA’s debate activities and academic initiatives. The role includes conducting literature reviews, gathering and organizing data on debate topics, and preparing research briefs and evidence files for debate teams. The Research Assistant will collaborate with debate coaches and members to develop fact-based arguments, assist in designing research projects, and help maintain a structured repository of reference materials. Daily tasks may also involve summarizing complex information into accessible formats, assisting with event-related documentation, and contributing to reports and publications that showcase BRUDA’s work.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Research and Analytical Skills to investigate debate topics, evaluate sources, and synthesize information effectively.Candidates should possess Data Analysis skills, including basic quantitative or qualitative analysis and the ability to interpret findings in a clear and logical manner.Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, to prepare research summaries and collaborate with debate teams and coordinators.Candidates should possess Laboratory Skills if involved in empirical or experimental projects, including accurate data collection and adherence to research protocols.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple research tasks and deadlines.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an academic and student-focused environment.Familiarity with academic writing, citation methods, and basic productivity tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software).Relevant coursework or a degree in a field emphasizing research (e.g., Social Sciences, Humanities, or related disciplines) is preferred but not mandatory.
