Location: New Delhi, In-Office| Type: Full-timeABOUT THE ROLEWe are looking for a motivated Research Assistant to provide analytical and research support for projects examining the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and economics in India.

You will work on your own individual projects, and contribute to existing ones via data analysis, literature reviews and the preparation of research outputs across the project lifecycle.RESEARCH AREAS (All in Context of India)Skill Development in AI EraAI Driven Structural Transformation of IndiaAI in IndustriesAI in ServicesAI in AgricultureNational Growth Imperatives AIAI Driven Innovation and R&D in IndiaAI GovernanceAI Infrastructure in IndiaWe also encourage exploring research areas on AI apart from the ones mentioned above, as long as they align with CRF’s larger AI research objectives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESConduct targeted research in the field via quantitative analysis, and synthesising findings from academic and policy sourcesCollect, clean and manage quantitative and qualitative datasetsPerform statistical and econometric analysis using appropriate software toolsContribute to drafting research reports, working papers, policy briefs and presentations, in both individual and joint projects.Support the coordination of research activities and events, including scheduling, documentation and stakeholder communicationKeep up to date with developments in AI and economic research relevant to the Indian contextOrganise roundtables and panel discussions based on your work to gain expert insight and modify the research work accordinglyREQUIREMENTSMaster's degree in Economics, Public Policy, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field with prior exposure to AI/ML concepts and their application in economic research0–2 years of relevant research experience (internships count)Proficiency in at least one statistical or programming tool (R, Python or Stata)Sound understanding of applied econometrics and research methodologyStrong analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced research environmentDESIRABLEExperience working on India focused development or technology policy projectsWHAT WE OFFERPlatform to pursue research on topics of choice in the field of AI (with due approvals)Exposure to policy relevant, high impact researchA collaborative and intellectually stimulating work environmentA clear pathway for growth into more senior research roles
