As the sole distributor of Effective Microorganisms (EM) in the country, we are dedicated to transforming the agricultural landscape by providing innovative solutions that enhance productivity while safeguarding the environment.Effective Microorganisms, discovered by Professor T. Higa of Japan, were initially developed as a natural alternative to chemical fertilizers. Over the years, EM has evolved into a multi-purpose tool that benefits various aspects of agriculture and environmental management. Our mission at Woljeejii is to harness the power of these microorganisms to support farmers and livestock producers in achieving sustainable growth.Role Description Key ResponsibilitiesConduct literature reviews and scientific research related to EM technology and beneficial microorganisms.Assist in designing and implementing laboratory, field, and farm-based research activities.Support research on EM applications in livestock nutrition, animal health, feed utilisation, silage, and productivity.Participate in research on crop production, soil fertility, composting, and organic fertilisation.Support agricultural and livestock waste-management and waste-to-wealth initiatives.Collect, manage, analyse, and document research and field data.Support the establishment and monitoring of EM demonstration sites and pilot projects.Prepare research reports, technical documents, concept notes, presentations, and research proposals.Support collaboration with universities, research institutions, farmers, livestock producers, and development partners.Assist in training and knowledge-transfer activities for farmers, agricultural professionals, and other stakeholders.Contribute to identifying innovative and commercially viable applications of EM technology.Support dissemination of research findings through workshops, seminars, conferences, publications, and digital platforms.Required QualificationsFinal year under graduate student on Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Agriculture, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field.Demonstrated interest or experience in microbial technology, sustainable agriculture, livestock production, environmental management, or agricultural research.Good research, analytical, documentation, and scientific communication skills.Ability to conduct fieldwork and work collaboratively with farmers, researchers, and industry stakeholders.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Computer literacy and ability to analyse and present research data.Experience in scientific writing, research proposal development, or academic research is an advantage.Preferred CompetenciesResearch and analytical thinkingScientific writing and reportingField research and data collectionMicrobiology and microbial technologySustainable agricultureLivestock production and animal healthInnovation and problem-solvingTeamwork and stakeholder engagementProject coordination and communicationDuty StationBishoftu, Ethiopia, with field activities and travel as required.How to ApplyInterested and qualified candidates should submit:Updated CVCover letterCopies of relevant academic credentialsContact details of professional referees
