This industry-focused approach ensures graduates are job-ready and aligned with the needs of commercial enterprises and organizations in Abu Dhabi.Role Description The Research Assistant in Mechanical or Welding will support applied research projects, practical experiments, and innovation activities within ADVETI’s technical programs. This full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi involves assisting in the design and execution of laboratory tests, maintaining equipment, collecting and organizing data, and documenting procedures and results. The role includes collaborating with faculty and instructors on project planning, literature reviews, and preparation of technical reports or presentations. The Research Assistant will help ensure laboratory safety, support student learning activities when required, and contribute to continuous improvement of mechanical and welding research practices.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and Data Analysis capabilities for evaluating experimental results and supporting evidence-based conclusions.Candidates should possess solid Research skills, including literature review, experimental design support, and accurate documentation of methods and findings.Candidates should possess practical Laboratory Skills related to mechanical or welding processes, including equipment handling, safety procedures, and test execution.Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for working with faculty, students, and technical staff, and for preparing clear technical reports and presentations.Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, Industrial Technology, or a closely related field.Knowledge of basic welding techniques, mechanical testing methods, and relevant standards or codes is highly beneficial.Ability to follow safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and quality assurance practices in laboratory and workshop environments.Proficiency with common office and data tools (e.g., spreadsheets, basic statistical software) and willingness to learn new research-related applications.Previous experience in a research, laboratory, or technical support role in mechanical or welding disciplines is an advantage.
