Dubai Health is managing and operating 54 sites, including 6 government hospitals, 26 ambulatory health centers, 20 medical fitness centers, Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), and Al Jalila Foundation.Stem Cells and Regeneration Research Group Research Assistant Title: Research Assistant, Stem Cells and Regeneration Research GroupReporting to: Laboratory Scientist / Laboratory ManagerRole OverviewThe Research Assistant will provide hands-on technical support for laboratory activities within the Stem Cells and Regeneration Research Group within the Dubai Precision Medicine Center (DPMC), with a primary focus on human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) culture and associated in-vitro systems. The role supports ongoing projects by ensuring experimental continuity, consistency, and adherence to laboratory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLaboratory & Technical SupportPerform routine and advanced technical procedures related to human iPSC culture and maintenance, following established protocolsPrepare, aliquot, and quality-check cell culture media, reagents, and consumablesExecute technical aspects of experiments involving cell-based and tissue engineering–related systems under the direction of senior staffMolecular Biology, Imaging & Analytical TechniquesPerform and support molecular and cellular assays, including qPCR, Western blotting, Elisa, immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and H&E stainingOperate and support imaging workflows using confocal microscopyPrepare samples for and support flow cytometry (FACS) experimentsQuality, Safety & Technical DocumentationMaintain accurate and complete technical records, laboratory logs, and sample documentation.Strictly follow established SOPs, biosafety, and ethics requirements.Support consistency, reproducibility, and quality control in technical laboratory procedures.Operational & Equipment SupportManage technical aspects of sample handling, labeling, storage, and retrieval.Ensure laboratory areas, equipment, and workstations are operational and ready for use.Support routine equipment checks, calibration coordination, and inventory tracking.Team & Project SupportWork closely with laboratory scientists and managers to deliver technical support for ongoing projects.Provide technical assistance to junior staff and trainees when required.Participate in training, method refreshers, and skill-development activities.Required QualificationsBSc or MSc in biomedical sciences, life sciences, biotechnology, or a related fieldSubstantial hands-on experience with human iPSC culture and laboratory techniquesStrong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accuratelyDesirable ExperienceExperience in tissue engineering, 3D culture, or advanced in-vitro systemsExperience working in an academic or research-intensive laboratory environmentOnly shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
