AivoCode is hiring a Research Associate to support its neurodegenerative disease research team in San Diego, CA — a more junior, mentorship-oriented counterpart to the team's Scientist I/II role.About AivoCodeAivoCode is a neuroscience-driven biotech on a mission to transform how neurological diseases are treated, combining cutting-edge neuroprotective science with real-world clinical impact. The team focuses on neurodegenerative and neurological conditions, including Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, and ALS.Position SummaryThe Research Associate will support the lab's assay development work for screening therapeutic candidates against neurodegenerative disease, working closely with and under the guidance of senior scientists. This is an entry-to-early-career role: strong hands-on fundamentals and a willingness to learn matter more than independent track record.Key Responsibilities

• Support experimental workflows under the direction of senior scientists, from sample and reagent prep through data collection
• Assist with maintaining primary neuronal and glial cultures (neurons, astrocytes, microglia)
• Perform routine molecular and biochemical techniques — RT-PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry — with training and oversight
• Keep accurate, organized lab notebooks and help maintain experimental documentation
• Help track and maintain lab supplies, reagents, and equipmentQualificationsRequired
• Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
• Some hands-on lab experience with cell culture technique, whether from coursework, an academic lab, or a prior research position
• Basic familiarity with molecular or biochemical lab techniques, and a genuine willingness to learn new ones
• Interest in neurodegenerative disease research
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detailPreferred
• Prior experience as a research assistant or associate in an academic or industry lab
• Exposure to HPLC or imaging techniques (e.g., confocal microscopy) or drug discovery workflows
• Coursework or research experience touching neuroinflammation or cellular stress biologyLogistics

• Reports to: Scientist on the neurobiology team
