Research Fellow - CILE

Job Purpose:To conduct research on an assigned project, to ensure smooth running of tasks involved in a timely manner, and to produce project status reports periodically.Key Result Areas:Contribute to research with minimum supervision and participate as a team member on research projects, including conceptualization of research survey methodologies, data collection, fieldwork, implementation,interviews, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, report writing, presentation preparations, and reviewand revision or written work.Under supervision, apply basic scientific principles, develop research procedures, and perform literaturesearches and reference collectionAssist with policies and procedures to ensure that work meets research quality objectives toward accreditationstandardsDevelop and maintain repositories of defined priority research topics, research recordists, policies andresearch related documentsWork with other team members to design and manage databases to support research workCarry out fieldwork protocols in order to produce reliable and precise data, and supervise fieldwork and datacollection operations and activitiesCollect and record data from multiple sources, perform calculations for preparation of graphs and tabulate,summarize and interpret results for publication and presentationsSeek to publish peer-reviewed papers, either independently or in collaboration with other researchersAssist in preparing proposal for external fund agenciesMaintain updated reports on research projects' progressParticipate in research-related scientific gatherings and collaborate on the organization of research-relatedevents such as seminars and conferences to maintain close ties with relevant research institutesProvide training on specific research tools in own area of specialty to entry-level researchers and supportstaff and protocols and techniques to researchers and graduate studentsEngage with CIS students and participate in their research projectsOther reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisorMinimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:Master’s degree in a relevant field & 3-5 years of relevant full-time work experienceProven record of related researchProfessional level of knowledge and experience applying technical principles, theories, professionalcompetencies, and techniques of disciplineAble to apply knowledge to solve a wide range of complex technical problemsExcellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications andto articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantageProficiency in MS Office applications
