NUS fosters an inclusive, collaborative environment where diverse perspectives drive innovation and societal impact.Role Description The Research Fellow in Computational Physics will conduct advanced research in computational modeling and simulation, focusing on problems of scientific and technological relevance. This full-time, on-site role in Singapore involves developing and implementing numerical algorithms, running large-scale simulations, and analyzing complex datasets to generate publishable findings. The Research Fellow will collaborate with faculty, students, and external partners, contribute to research proposals, and co-author articles in high-impact journals and conferences. Responsibilities also include documenting methodologies, presenting results at seminars and workshops, mentoring junior researchers or graduate students, and supporting the broader research objectives of the department and university.Qualifications Strong foundation in computational physics or closely related fields, with proficiency in numerical methods and scientific computing.Experience with programming languages commonly used in computational research (e.g., Python, C/C++, Fortran), as well as relevant libraries or frameworks.Skills in data analysis, visualization, and interpretation of complex simulation results, using modern tools and software environments.Background in mathematical modeling, differential equations, and statistical or stochastic methods applicable to physical systems.Track record of research productivity, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations in recognized scientific venues.Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly in written and spoken English, and present technical work to diverse audiences.PhD in Physics, Computational Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent research experience.Familiarity with high-performance computing environments, parallel programming, and version control systems is highly beneficial.Strong problem-solving skills, initiative in pursuing independent research directions aligned with group goals, and commitment to research integrity and ethical conduct.
