A master’sdegree would be an added advantage.About Acoerela:Acoerela, a National University of Singapore (NUS) spinoff, is pioneering next-generationfluorogenic dyes for advanced nanovesicle analyses. Our proprietary, water-solubleConjugated Oligoelectrolytes (COEs) commercialised as Aco-Dyes™ significantly enhancethe detection and tracking of nanovesicles such as extracellular vesicles (EVs), helpingbiomedical researchers unlock new frontiers in diagnostics and therapeutics.What You’ll Do:As part of the R&D Team, you will be responsible for a diverse range of activities, including:Poduct development & production: Support the preparation, optimisation, andproduction of Acoerela’s fluorescent dye products.Quality control: Perform routine QC testing and characterisation of products toensure consistency, quality, and performance.Hands-on laboratory research: Design and perform experiments, troubleshootprotocols, analyse results, and contribute to ongoing R&D projects.Explore new applications: Investigate and test potential new applications ofAcoerela’s technology across areas such as extracellular vesicles, lipid nanoparticles,cell biology, and imaging.Collaborative research: Support experiments conducted together with academic andindustry collaborators, providing exposure to real-world research projects andapplications.Data analyses: Process and analyse experimental data, identify trends, and helptranslate results into meaningful scientific conclusions.Scientific documentation: Compile experimental results, prepare reports, maintainclear experimental records, and contribute to technical documents, application notes,and other scientific materials.Problem solving & innovation: Participate in discussions around experimentaldesign, troubleshoot unexpected results, and contribute your own ideas to improveexisting methods or explore new directions.We are looking for someone who is: A graduate with a major in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences,Chemistry, or a related field.Comfortable working in a laboratory environment and willing to learn new techniques.Analytical and detail-oriented, with an interest in understanding the why behindexperimental results.Able to work independently, while also being a collaborative team member.Proactive and willing to take ownership of tasks and projects.Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic start-up environment wherepriorities can evolve and new ideas are encouraged.Prior laboratory or research experience is a plus, but curiosity, initiative, and willingness tolearn are equally important.Why Join Acoerela?As a small and growing biotech company, employees have the opportunity to take onmeaningful responsibilities, collaborate cross functionally, and see how their contributionstranslate into real products, experiments, and scientific outcomes.If you are excited by the idea of learning by doing, solving real scientific problems, andexperiencing the pace and creativity of an early-stage biotech startup, we would love to hearfrom you.Application Procedure:Email your resume to hello@acoerela.com with the subject “RESEARCH OFFICER Q32026”.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted to discuss their application and nextsteps.Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete a technical assignment andattend a series of interviews.
