Research Program Specialist – SummaryThe Research Program Specialist supports the museum’s research strategy by coordinating scholarly research projects, publications, fellowships, academic partnerships, and public research programs. The role acts as a key liaison between researchers, fellows, academic institutions, and internal stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery and dissemination of research initiatives.Key responsibilities include:Supporting research projects, exhibitions, publications, collections research, and knowledge-generation initiatives.Conducting academic research, literature reviews, and preparing reports, briefing papers, and research documentation.Managing research publications, journals, conference proceedings, and scholarly outputs, while coordinating peer-review processes and ensuring compliance with international academic standards.Building and maintaining relationships with universities, researchers, cultural organizations, and subject matter experts.Organizing workshops, seminars, conferences, reading groups, lectures, and other research-focused events, including event coordination, note-taking, and reporting.Preparing and presenting R&D progress reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders.Developing and distributing communications related to research programs, events, publications, and fellowships.Supporting fellowship and grant programs, including onboarding fellows, facilitating access to resources, monitoring deliverables, and coordinating administrative requirements.Managing agreements, schedules, visa documentation, program records, and stakeholder communications related to research and fellowship initiatives.Maintaining research databases, archives, and documentation while ensuring effective knowledge sharing across the museum.Ideal Profile: A candidate with a strong background in research, humanities, art history, museum studies, cultural heritage, or related disciplines, coupled with excellent writing, editing, project management, stakeholder engagement, and organizational skills. Experience supporting academic publications, research programs, and fellowship initiatives within a museum, university, or cultural institution environment is highly desirable.
