Research Scientist in Robotics

Job Role:HCT is looking for a Research Scientist – Robotics and Autonomous Systems to provide scientific and technical leadership within the RAS Research Centre.ResponsibilitiesLead high-impact robotics research and development projectsProvide expert guidance in robotic system design, software development, integration, testing and validationDevelop laboratory and field-based robotic prototypes and pilot demonstrationsPrepare competitive research proposals and secure external fundingPublish research in leading peer-reviewed journals and conferencesGenerate patents, intellectual property and innovative robotics technologiesBuild collaborations with industry, government and academic institutionsSupport technology transfer, commercialization and industrial engagementCoordinate multidisciplinary research teams and project deliverablesMentor Research Associates, postgraduate researchers and studentsContribute to the Centre’s long-term research strategy and technology roadmapQualifications:PhD in Robotics or a related engineering or computer science disciplineMinimum two years of postdoctoral or equivalent industrial research experienceStrong publication record and experience in externally funded research projectsRequired Skills:Robotics and autonomous systemsRobotic hardware development and integrationRobotics software developmentSystem testing and validationExperimental design and scientific research methodologyRobot sensing and perceptionResearch proposal developmentScientific writing and publicationPrototype developmentTechnology transfer and commercializationAnalytical problem-solvingLeadership and mentoring
