Apply & track with Apply EdgeResearch Scientist – PreclinicalAre you a Preclinical Scientist with experience in molecular biology and in vivo research, looking to join a growing scientific organisation working on innovative therapeutic programmes?We are supporting an expanding Preclinical Development team seeking a Research Scientist to contribute to the development and execution of preclinical studies supporting programmes from early research through to clinical development.The RoleYou will be involved in the design, development and execution of preclinical experiments, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to generate high-quality data and support the progression of therapeutic programmes.Key responsibilities will include:Designing and executing preclinical potency and safety studies.Supporting the development and optimisation of experimental assays and workflows.Conducting molecular biology experiments and analysing experimental data.Supporting in vivo studies and therapeutic readout assessments.Developing and maintaining SOPs, protocols and work instructions.Contributing to process improvements and the implementation of new technologies.Working collaboratively with R&D, Quality and Compliance colleagues.Supporting technology transfer and development projects.Contributing to the ongoing development of laboratory capabilities and processes.The ideal candidate will have:A PhD in Biology, Biochemistry or a related discipline, or an MSc/BSc with relevant academic or industry experience.Strong practical experience in molecular biology.Experience with techniques such as dPCR, DNA/RNA preparation, western blotting or related analytical approaches.Previous experience in preclinical or in vivo research.Experience with histology and tissue analysis, including immunohistochemistry, would be advantageous.Experience working with advanced therapeutic modalities or viral vector-based approaches would be highly desirable.Experience with small animal models and a controlled laboratory environment would be beneficial.Strong experimental design, data interpretation and problem-solving skills.The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Interested in finding out more?Apply now or get in touch for a confidential discussion about the opportunity.
