Company Description Debre Markos University (DMU) is a public Ethiopian university established by the Federal Government of Ethiopia in 2007. The university offers opportunities for academics who wish to contribute to knowledge creation and capacity building in Ethiopia and beyond.Role Description The Researcher and Instructor will hold a full-time, on-site position based in Debre Markos at Debre Markos University. Responsibilities include designing and conducting research projects, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and seeking collaboration and funding opportunities. The role involves preparing and delivering lectures, developing course materials, supervising student projects and theses, and assessing student performance. The individual will participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and academic committees, while contributing to the university’s community engagement and outreach activities. The position requires active involvement in mentoring students and fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.Qualifications Advanced research skills, including study design, data collection, analysis, and academic writing for publication.Strong teaching and instructional abilities, including curriculum development, course planning, and student assessment.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and engage diverse learners.Organizational and time-management skills to balance research, teaching, and administrative responsibilities.Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant academic discipline from a recognized institution (PhD preferred).Demonstrated record of scholarly output (e.g., publications, conference presentations) and commitment to ongoing professional development.Experience supervising students or research projects and contributing to academic program development is an asset.Willingness to reside in Debre Markos and engage with the local community and regional research opportunities.
