Dear Future Phycologists, The Marine Biodiversity Lab at the University of Galway is currently offering two fully funded research positions: PhD – Ecology and Evolution of Seaweeds Using a Multi-Omic Approach: A four-year PhD investigating the links between seaweed biodiversity, evolution and chemical ecology, combining molecular systematics, phylogenomics and LC–MS metabolomics to understand how chemical traits vary across species, populations and environments.MSc – Metabolomic Diversity in Kelp: A one-year funded MSc using LC–MS metabolomics to investigate chemical diversity in kelp among species, populations, tissues and environmental conditions.Both positions are based at the University of Galway and offer an opportunity to develop interdisciplinary skills in marine biodiversity, molecular biology, metabolomics and chemical ecology.
