It is the only hospital group in Bulgaria with Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, reflecting its commitment to the highest global standards for quality and patient safety.Role Description The Resident Doctor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sofia, working within one of Acibadem City Clinic’s university hospitals. The Resident Doctor will provide direct patient care under supervision, including admission assessments, daily rounds, diagnostic workups, treatment planning, and follow-up evaluations. Responsibilities include ordering and interpreting tests, documenting medical records accurately, prescribing treatments in line with clinical guidelines, and participating in multidisciplinary team discussions. The role also involves contributing to clinical protocols, engaging in research or quality improvement activities, and participating in teaching and training sessions as required. Resident Doctors are expected to support a high standard of patient safety, uphold ethical medical practice, and collaborate closely with attending physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals.Qualifications Completed medical degree (MD or equivalent) and eligibility for residency training in Bulgaria; registration with relevant medical authorities.Strong clinical knowledge in internal medicine, surgery, or other core specialties, with the ability to perform thorough history-taking, physical examinations, and differential diagnosis.Competence in using diagnostic tools, interpreting laboratory and imaging results, and applying evidence-based treatment protocols.Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, including clear and empathetic patient counseling.Proficiency in medical documentation, including accurate electronic health record (EHR) usage and adherence to regulatory and hospital documentation standards.Commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and quality improvement, with openness to feedback and continuous professional development.Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment, manage multiple clinical priorities, and contribute to on-call rotations as required.Fluency in Bulgarian and good command of medical English; experience in an academic or teaching hospital setting is an advantage.
