Team members benefit from working in an international retail organization with exposure to Japanese service standards and diverse customer groups.Role Description The Retail Cashier role at Isetan Malaysia is a full-time, on-site position based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. The cashier is responsible for operating the point-of-sale system, processing customer transactions accurately, handling cash and electronic payments, and issuing receipts. Day-to-day tasks include greeting customers, answering basic product or price inquiries, applying promotions and discounts correctly, and ensuring a smooth checkout experience. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, managing cash float and end-of-day balancing, and collaborating with floor staff and supervisors to support store operations. The cashier is expected to follow company policies, uphold high standards of customer service, and contribute to a positive shopping environment.Qualifications Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously with diverse customers.Basic cash-handling and point-of-sale (POS) operation skills, including accuracy in counting, processing payments, and balancing transactions.Attention to detail and problem-solving skills for managing pricing issues, transaction errors, and simple customer concerns.Time management and teamwork skills to handle peak-hours traffic and coordinate effectively with store colleagues.Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine retail tasks in a fast-paced environment.Prior retail or cashier experience is an advantage; familiarity with department store operations is beneficial.Basic proficiency in English; ability to communicate in Malay and/or other languages common in Malaysia is an added advantage.Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays according to store schedule.
