We are partnered with a leading UK boutique law firm that is looking to appoint a Risk & Compliance Manager into a newly created role.This is a broad, hands on opportunity working closely with the Operations Director, Partners and senior leadership team, with responsibility for overseeing the firm’s risk, compliance, governance and policy framework.It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys having genuine ownership of their work and wants to play a key role in shaping risk and compliance across an established and growing organisation.The role will include:Managing and maintaining the firm’s risk register, ensuring risks are appropriately identified, escalated and mitigatedMonitoring regulatory and legislative developments and ensuring the business remains compliantActing as a key point of contact for regulatory and professional bodiesReviewing and maintaining firm-wide policies, procedures and governance documentationOverseeing AML, sanctions and wider regulatory compliance requirementsManaging mandatory compliance training and delivering risk & compliance induction to new joinersConducting compliance audits and monitoring risk management plansInvestigating incidents and breaches, supporting complaints and identifying trends and areas for improvementManaging key regulatory registrations, returns, renewals and insurance requirementsSupporting business continuity planning and wider operational projectsWorking closely with Partners, Directors and senior stakeholders on risk and governance mattersSupporting the Operations Director with process improvement, transformation and strategic projectsAbout you:The successful candidate is likely to have:5+ years’ experience in risk and compliance, ideally gained within a law firm or regulated professional services environmentStrong knowledge of SRA requirements, AML, sanctions, data protection and professional conduct regulationsExperience developing, reviewing and implementing compliance policies and frameworksA strong understanding of risk management and governanceExcellent organisation and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesStrong written communication skills and confidence drafting policies and governance documentationThe ability to work effectively with Partners and senior stakeholders, exercising discretion and sound judgementA proactive, practical and hands-on approachPlease apply now!
