More: decta.comWhy we need this roleAs Decta continues to grow in scale, transaction volumes and regulatory complexity, the demands on the Risk Function continues to increase. A dedicated Risk Analyst will enable theChief Risk Officer to focus on strategic oversight, Board engagement, regulatory interaction and the continued development of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, while ensuring that day-to-day risk management activities are performed consistently and within required timeframes.The role will also address a key-person dependency within the second line of defence. By providing operational support and cross-training to undertake core risk activities during periods ofannual leave, illness or other absences, the Risk Analyst will help ensure continuity of critical risk oversight, including incident management, KRI monitoring, risk reporting, action tracking, business continuity activities and regulatory support. This strengthens the resilience of the Risk Function and reduces the risk of disruption to key governance processes.The appointment will enhance Decta's operational resilience by improving the timely identification, assessment and escalation of risks, strengthening oversight of important business services, and supporting compliance with DORA, the EBA Guidelines on Internal Governance and CBI expectations.Overall, the role reduces operational risk, mitigates key-person dependency and helps ensure that the organisation maintains an effective and resilient second line of defence as it continues to grow.Role Purpose:Decta are an authorised E-Money Institution providing robust merchant acquiring solutions, with strategic plans to expand into card issuing. We are seeking a Senior Payment Risk Analyst to act as a core pillar of our Second Line of Defence. You will be responsible for independently monitoring, challenging, and enhancing our risk management frameworks to safeguard the company, our merchants, and our partners while keeping us aligned with Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) expectations.Salary:€60,000–€70,000 gross per annum, depending on experience.Principal Accountabilities:Support the CRO in the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.Coordinate the identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of enterprise, operational, ICT and emerging risks across the business.Maintain the corporate risk register and monitor the timely completion of risk mitigation actions and remediation plans.Monitor operational incidents, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and risk appetite metrics, ensuring material issues are escalated appropriately.Prepare risk reports, dashboards and management information for Executive Management, the Board and Board Risk Committee.Support the organisation's Operational Resilience, Business Continuity and DORA frameworks, including resilience testing and incident management.Conduct risk assessments for new products, projects, outsourcing arrangements and material business changes, providing independent challenge where appropriate.Promote a strong risk culture through guidance, training and engagement with the business, while maintaining risk policies, procedures and documentation.Provide operational support and appropriate cover for the CRO during periods of annual leave or other absence, ensuring continuity of key second-line risk activities.Skills & ExperienceEssential:Qualification in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.2–5 years' experience in enterprise risk, operational risk, compliance, internal audit or a related governance role within financial services.Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience preparing high-quality management reports and presenting information clearly.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Desirable: Experience within an E-Money Institution, Payment Institution, fintech or banking environment.Knowledge of DORA, operational resilience and enterprise risk management frameworks.Experience with risk management software or governance, risk and compliance (GRC) systems.
