About the FirmA top-tier international law firm with a strong global presence, known for its progressive and commercially minded approach to legal advice, combining practical, business-focused thinking with deep legal expertise.The RoleThe firm is looking for a Risk & Compliance Officer to join its Risk & Compliance team in Dubai, providing practice support across risk, regulatory compliance, and conflicts.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport matter inception and new client/matter onboarding in line with regulatory standards and firm policyConduct client due diligence, review KYC documentation, and carry out AML and sanctions searches, escalating issues to the MLRO as neededAssist with the uniform application of engagement terms and review client-imposed termsPerform ongoing monitoring and risk assessment of client and matter changesMaintain accurate and up-to-date matter informationReview and help keep firm policies current with regulatory requirementsSupport compliance reporting, including weekly/monthly status reportsHelp set up and maintain information barriers and insider listsDeliver internal training to embed best practiceContribute to research and process improvement projectsSupport Risk Lawyers with annual internal file auditsCollaborate with Revenue & Collections, Marketing, and Conflicts teams as neededRespond to ad hoc requests from the businessWhat We're Looking ForMinimum 6 months' experience in a compliance function within a regulated organisationLaw degree or GDL qualification, with some legal work experienceAML experienceStrong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworksAbility to identify conflicts and risk within a law firm (training provided if needed)Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skillsStrong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information professionallyComfortable managing multiple tasks and projects, working both independently and as part of a global teamHigh proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
