قدّم وتابع مع أبلاي إيدجRole PurposeThe Risk Manager will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive risk management framework for the 5-Star Hotel project. This role is critical in identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring all project-related risks across engineering, architectural, construction, contractual, financial, regulatory, and HSE domains throughout the entire project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities1. Risk Framework & Strategy• Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Risk Management Plan in accordance with international standards (ISO 31000, PMI-RMP).• Establish risk governance structures, escalation protocols, and reporting hierarchies aligned with the project's organizational chart.• Define risk appetite, tolerance thresholds, and response strategies in collaboration with senior leadership.• Ensure the risk management framework aligns with UAE regulatory requirements and Dubai Municipality guidelines.2. Risk Identification & Assessment• Conduct systematic risk identification workshops and interviews with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and consultants.• Develop and maintain a comprehensive Risk Register covering design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.• Perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis for schedule and cost risk assessments.• Identify geotechnical, structural, MEP, fire & life safety, and façade engineering risks specific to the hotel project.3. Risk Mitigation & Response Planning• Develop and implement proactive risk mitigation and contingency response plans for all identified high and critical risks.• Coordinate with discipline engineers, architects, cost managers, and contractors to integrate risk responses into project plans.• Maintain risk contingency budgets and schedule buffers in coordination with the Project Controls team.• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation actions, updating the Risk Register accordingly.4. Risk Monitoring & Reporting• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly Risk Status Reports to the Project Director and Client stakeholders.• Facilitate regular Risk Review Meetings with the project team and management committees.• Track Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and provide early warning notifications on emerging risk trends.• Maintain audit trails for all risk decisions, mitigations, and change events.5. HSE & Regulatory Risk Management• Collaborate with the HSE Manager to assess Health, Safety, and Environmental risks in compliance with UAE HSE laws, OSHAD-SF, and Dubai Civil Defence requirements.• Support the assessment of risks related to fire engineering, structural safety, and façade access systems.• Ensure all risk activities comply with DMCA (Dubai Municipality Codes and Authorities), DDA, and RTA requirements as applicable.6. Contractual & Financial Risk• Review project contracts (FIDIC-based or bespoke) to identify contractual risks, liabilities, and insurance obligations.• Coordinate with contractor and commercial teams on risk clauses, claims prevention, and dispute avoidance strategies.• Assess financial risks including currency fluctuation, cost escalation, and supply chain volatility for materials and equipment.7. Stakeholder Engagement• Act as the primary point of contact for risk-related matters with the Client, Project Owner, and Authority Having Jurisdictions (AHJs).• Engage with insurance brokers and underwriters for project-specific risk coverages (CAR, EAR, Professional Indemnity).• Support the Project Director during interface meetings, project reviews, and governance audits.Qualifications & ExperienceEducation• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline (mandatory).• Master's Degree in Project Management, Risk Management, or Construction Management (preferred).Professional Certifications• PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification • ISO 31000 Risk Management Certification • NEBOSH or equivalent HSE qualificationExperience• Minimum 10 years of experience in project risk management within the construction or engineering consultancy sector.• At least 5 years of hands-on experience managing risks on large-scale luxury hospitality or high-end mixed-use development projects.• Demonstrated experience working in the GCC region, with a thorough understanding of UAE regulatory and construction frameworks.• Proven track record of managing risks on projects exceeding AED 2 billion in value.Technical Competencies• Proficiency in risk management software: Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA), Oracle Risk Management, Active Risk Manager (ARM), or equivalent.• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts • Solid understanding of construction methodologies, MEP coordination, and architectural design processes for luxury hotel developments.
