métier – Strategic HR Solutions is hiring a Risk Officer for one of our insurance clients in the UAE.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the development, implementation, and monitoring of the organization’s risk management framework.Identify, assess, and monitor key business, operational, financial, and insurance-related risks.Maintain and update risk registers, risk assessments, and control matrices.Support business units in identifying potential risks and developing appropriate mitigation plans.Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and prepare periodic risk reports for management.Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls and risk mitigation measures.Coordinate with internal stakeholders on risk, governance, compliance, and audit-related matters.Track identified risk issues, action plans, and remediation activities to ensure timely closure.Support internal and external audits by providing relevant risk documentation and information.Stay updated on applicable regulatory, governance, and insurance industry requirements.Contribute to business continuity, operational resilience, and other enterprise risk initiatives as required.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related field.2–5 years of relevant experience, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.Strong understanding of risk management principles, internal controls, and risk assessment methodologies.Experience with risk registers, KRIs, risk reporting, and mitigation planning.Good analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Professional certification in Risk Management, ERM, FRM, CIA, ACCA, or a related field will be an advantage.Experience and knowledge of local insurance regulations will be an advantage.
