Road Freight Operations Specialist

About the RoleManage and develop the company's road freight business, covering domestic and cross-border transportation services. Oversee end-to-end road freight operations while identifying new business opportunities, developing customer relationships, and increasing revenue. Ensure reliable, cost-effective, and customer-focused road freight solutions in line with company standards and customer requirements.ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end domestic and international road freight operations to ensure reliable, timely, and cost-effective service delivery.Develop and implement road freight strategies that increase shipment volumes, revenue, profitability, and customer retention.Identify and develop new business opportunities by understanding customer requirements, market trends, routes, and industry demand.Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, transporters, carriers, and logistics partners to ensure service quality and business growth.Lead and manage the road freight team by setting priorities, allocating workloads, coaching employees, and monitoring performance.Manage and negotiate carrier rates, transportation costs, and service agreements to secure competitive pricing and healthy margins.Monitor and analyse operational and commercial KPIs, including shipment volumes, revenue, margins, delivery performance, costs, and customer satisfaction.Coordinate with Sales, Customs, Warehousing, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure seamless shipment execution and resolution of operational issues.Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies to reduce costs, improve service quality, and strengthen the overall road freight offering.Ensure road freight activities comply with company policies, customer SLAs, transportation regulations, customs requirements, and applicable industry standards.Experience & Qualifications Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or relevant field.Minimum 05 years’ experience in road freight, transportation, logistics, or 3PL operations.Established network of transporters, carriers, and logistics partners.Proven experience in road freight business development, customer acquisition, and revenue growth.Strong knowledge of road freight operations, carrier management, customer service, pricing, and transportation documentation.
