These solutions unlock new capabilities for inspection, monitoring, and operations where direct human intervention is limited or not feasible, offering team members opportunities to work on cutting-edge real-world systems.Role DescriptionThis full-time, on-site Robotics Engineer / Autonomy role is based in Winterthur, Zürich. The role involves designing, developing, and integrating autonomy algorithms for robotic platforms, with a focus on perception, navigation, obstacle avoidance, and mission execution. The person in this role will implement and optimize software modules, validate performance through simulation and field testing, and refine systems based on data-driven insights. Daily activities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, reviewing system requirements, conducting experiments, and documenting designs and test results. The role actively contributes to technical roadmaps, supports integration, and mentors other team members in robotics and autonomous systems development.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement software components for autonomous and AI-driven systemsDevelop high-quality software primarily in C++ (C++17 or later)Own modules related to perception, localization, planning, sensor integration, and system orchestrationContribute to software architecture and technical design decisionsLead integration, testing, debugging, and validation of autonomous frameworksSupport simulation and real-world system validationDrive software quality, code reviews, and engineering best practicesContribute to CI/CD, deployment, performance optimization, and system reliabilityMentor less-experienced engineers and support technical decision-makingCollaborate across robotics, AI, software, and systems engineering teamsRequirements4+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering, Robotics, or Autonomous SystemsStrong expertise in C++ and familiarity with PythonStrong understanding of autonomous systems concepts such as perception, localization, sensor fusion, planning, or controlStrong software engineering fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and Linux developmentExperience with Git, debugging, testing, and maintainable software architecturesStrong familiarity with APIs, multithreading, containerization, and modern software development practicesAbility to independently own complex technical problemsStrong analytical, technical, and communication skillsFluent EnglishNice to haveROS2 or other robotics middlewareSimulation and validation environmentsDocker, CI/CD, or edge computingReady to join?
