The ideal candidate will bridge physical system design with complex robot control logic and be capable of designing, programming, simulating, and validating robotic workcells.Core ResponsibilitiesApply strong mechanical engineering principles along with advanced programming and system analysis capabilities.Lead the mechanical design of custom automation cells and End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) while ensuring adherence to ASME Y14.5 standards.Conduct robot reachability studies and payload analysis, including joint torque, center of gravity, and moment of inertia considerations.Perform robotic system simulation using MotoSim.Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety analyses in accordance with ANSI/RIA R15.06 and ISO 10218.Integrate safety PLCs, light curtains, and fail-safe mechanisms to support a safe operating environment.Design and program complex robotic workcells.Serve as a subject matter expert for high-level robot logic and motion profile optimization.Perform online robot programming on Yaskawa robots.Support robotic applications involving waterjet cutting when applicable.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.5–7 years of relevant experience.Expert-level experience programming 6-axis robots.Hands-on Yaskawa Online Robot Programming experience – Must.MotoSim simulation experience – Must.Integrated vision platform experience (Cognex, Keyence, etc.) – Must.Experience with robot reachability and payload analysis.Experience with ANSI/RIA R15.06 and ISO 10218.Experience with robotic system risk assessments and safety methodologies.Preferred ExperienceExperience with waterjet cutting applications.Experience designing custom automation cells and EOAT.Experience with robotic motion optimization and complex workcell programming.
