Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Summary:The Robotics Hardware Technician V (Tech 5) is a Department Manager responsible for leading a team of hardware technicians while remaining technically hands-onThis role owns day-to-day department operations, team performance, and project delivery. The Tech 5 sets expectations, removes blockers, and ensures work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.Pay Range: 50.51 - 57.73 EURResponsibilities:Lead, coach, and develop a team of hardware technicians (Tech I–IV)Handle scheduling, workload balancing, and resource planningConduct performance reviews and support career developmentFoster a positive, accountable team cultureSupport hiring, onboarding, and training effortsProvide technical guidance on complex buildsServe as final escalation point for hardware issuesPerform advanced assembly and troubleshooting as neededEnsure compliance with build standards and safety practicesEnsure work meets quality and safety standardsOwn delivery of department workstreamsCoordinate with engineers, project managers, and customersTrack progress, identify risks, and drive issues to resolutionImprove workflows, documentation, and standard processesEnsure tools, parts, and materials are properly managedHelp establish and refine department SOPsIdentify efficiency improvementsPromote safety, quality, and best practicesSupport scaling of operationsPromote a culture of continuous improvementRepresent the department professionallyParticipate in onsite meetings and reviewsCommunicate status and risks clearly
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalentAbility to pass a background checkExpected to know 25% travel languageAbility to speak English 6+ years of team/project management2+ years in a lead or supervisory role preferredHands-on robotics, automation, or advanced hardware experience preferredME/EE Degree, or Business Management degree preferred(Equivalent experience and/or education encouraged to apply)Experience building, testing, or deploying robotic systemsStrong mechanical and electrical assembly skillsComfortable reading schematics, drawings, and build documentationExperience with robotic subsystems, sensors, motors, actuators, conveyors, and end-of-arm toolingExperience with cabling, harnessing, and advanced troubleshootingAbility to diagnose system-level hardware issuesStrong people management and communication skillsComfortable giving feedback and holding accountabilityOrganized, dependable, and calm under pressureAble to interface professionally with engineers and customersRelevant experience may substitute for formal educationAbility to work flexible schedules and shiftsAbility to stand for extended periodsMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassistedAuthorized to work in the Germany
