Location: Brussels, BelgiumEmployment: Permanent/full-timeLanguage: English required; French is a plusThe Role:An exciting opportunity to become the first Robotics hire within a growing scale-up company and take ownership of building a new robotics department from the ground up.You will play a key role in defining the robotics strategy, architecture and technology stack, while also remaining highly hands-on technically.

As the function grows, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a wider robotics team.This is a role for someone who enjoys moving quickly, building from scratch and turning ideas into working robotic systems.

Key Responsibilities

Define the overall robotics system architecture and technical roadmapLead the selection and integration of robotics hardware, sensors and compute platformsDevelop end-to-end robotic manipulation pipelinesWork across perception, planning, control and learningDevelop and deploy imitation learning and reinforcement learning approachesExplore and implement the latest developments in VLA, VLM and Embodied AIWork with bi-arm / bimanual robotic systemsBuild, test and iterate rapidly on real robotic systemsTake ownership of projects from initial concept through to deploymentHelp shape the robotics team, hiring future engineers and defining technical processesTechnical Background:Robotics / robotic manipulationPython and C++ROS / ROS2PyTorch / deep learningKinematicsReinforcement learningVLA / VLM / Embodied AIMotion planning and controlRobotic arms, grippers and sensor integrationWhat We're Looking For:Proven experience developing and deploying robotic systemsExperience taking robotics projects from architecture through to working prototypeStrong understanding of modern robot learning and manipulationIdeally, hands-on experience with bi-arm / bimanual roboticsA genuine interest in the latest developments across robotics and AIStartup / fast-builder mentality - comfortable working autonomously, experimenting and solving problems from first principlesAbility and ambition to eventually build and lead a robotics teamFluent English; French is advantageousApply directly to have your profile submitted to the portal.
