Role DescriptionWe are seeking an innovative, analytical, and highly motivated Rocket Engineer to design, develop, test, and optimize rocket systems and launch vehicle technologies for commercial, government, and research applications. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of propulsion systems, structural components, guidance and control systems, avionics integration, and launch operations while ensuring safety, reliability, and mission success. This role collaborates closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, manufacturing specialists, quality assurance professionals, suppliers, and mission operations personnel to deliver advanced aerospace solutions that meet demanding performance and regulatory requirements.Key responsibilities include designing and developing rocket propulsion systems, launch vehicles, stages, payload integration systems, fuel systems, structural assemblies, and aerospace components; performing engineering analysis involving aerodynamics, thermodynamics, structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, propulsion performance, vibration, thermal management, and flight dynamics; preparing engineering calculations, technical drawings, specifications, system architectures, and design documentation using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and engineering simulation tools; conducting trade studies, design reviews, risk assessments, failure mode analyses, and verification activities to optimize system performance and reliability; supporting prototype development, assembly, integration, qualification testing, static fire testing, environmental testing, and launch readiness activities; collaborating with avionics, guidance, navigation and control (GNC), software, electrical, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle; monitoring manufacturing quality, supplier performance, and component validation to ensure compliance with engineering standards and mission requirements; participating in launch operations, mission support, post-flight analysis, anomaly investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives; developing technical reports, engineering documentation, test procedures, validation plans, and certification records; ensuring compliance with aerospace regulations, safety standards, quality management systems, export control requirements, and industry best practices; utilizing advanced modeling, digital twins, automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics to improve engineering design, predictive maintenance, and mission performance; supporting research and development initiatives focused on reusable launch systems, sustainable propulsion technologies, autonomous flight systems, and next-generation aerospace innovation; and staying informed about emerging aerospace technologies, space exploration programs, commercial launch developments, and international engineering standards.The Rocket Engineer is expected to combine advanced engineering knowledge with creativity, precision, and problem-solving abilities to develop safe, reliable, and high-performance launch systems. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, technical excellence, collaboration, effective communication, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous innovation in the aerospace industry.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Astronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering discipline. A postgraduate qualification is advantageous.Strong understanding of rocket propulsion, orbital mechanics, aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, structural analysis, combustion, materials science, and aerospace systems engineering.Proficiency in engineering software such as CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS, MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, COMSOL, or equivalent design and simulation platforms.Familiarity with propulsion systems including liquid, solid, hybrid, electric, and reusable propulsion technologies.Knowledge of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC), avionics, embedded systems, telemetry, sensors, flight software, and mission analysis.Understanding of manufacturing processes, composite materials, additive manufacturing, precision machining, quality assurance, reliability engineering, and systems integration.Knowledge of aerospace standards, safety regulations, systems engineering methodologies, configuration management, and quality frameworks applicable to aerospace and defense industries.Strong analytical, mathematical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex engineering systems.Excellent written, verbal, technical documentation, and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple engineering activities simultaneously.High level of professionalism, attention to detail, adaptability, innovation, and commitment to engineering excellence and operational safety.Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, C++, MATLAB, or similar languages for modeling, simulation, automation, and engineering analysis is advantageous.Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital twins, autonomous aerospace systems, advanced manufacturing, reusable launch vehicles, and commercial space technologies is highly desirable.Professional certifications, engineering licensure, or memberships with recognized aerospace or engineering organizations are considered advantageous but are not mandatory.Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about advancements in rocket propulsion, spacecraft engineering, commercial spaceflight, aerospace manufacturing, digital engineering, sustainability initiatives, and international aerospace best practices.
