They work with category-leading media, sports, and entertainment brands to deliver next-generation direct-to-consumer video experiences.They're growing their Roku Client Development Team and looking for an engineer who can own technical design for projects of moderate complexity and lead development of captivating Roku applications.Key Responsibilities:Architecting, developing and maintaining high-quality Roku applications using Brightscript, Scenegraph, and other technologiesManaging the Roku development lifecycle from concept to App Store release and beyondImplementing Figma designs to specificationBuilding custom components within an SDKWorking closely with product and design teams, ensuring partnership and on-time feature developmentCommunicating effectively with cross-functional teams from Development to System OperationsUnit-testing code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliabilityTroubleshooting, debugging and updating existing systems for smooth app operationsParticipating in on-call rotation and contributing to incident managementMonitoring industry trends and advocating for front-end development best practicesIdeal Profile:5+ years of experience in software development3+ years of experience in commercial Roku developmentProficiency in Brightscript and modern Roku technologiesPrior experience working in a multi-developer Roku development environment, including managing App Store build creation, submission and deploymentPrior experience building extensible, data-driven Roku softwareDemonstrated proficiency integrating with HTTP and Socket data APIs (REST, JSON-RPC, gRPC, etc.)Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating across teamsUnderstanding of the importance of alerting, monitoring, code coverage, and integration testingExperience working with Roku SDKs (or SDKs in general) is a plusKnowledge of and experience with Charles Proxy is a plusExperience managing or evangelizing platform-specific CI/build infrastructure and tooling is highly desirableFamiliarity with the current OTT landscape and emerging trends is a plusThis is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing, profitable video technology company at a defining moment in the connected TV space, working fully remote from anywhere in the US.APPLY NOW to discuss further details.5V Video are acting as an Employment Agency for the purposes of this position.
