Rust Engineer at a widely used AI infrastructure company. Single-owner mandate: you will lead the full migration of the core platform from Python to Rust, planned directly with the CTO, and own it end to end from architecture through rollout.Not a feature engineering role. A performance bet. Every decision you make moves the platform toward lower latency and higher throughput at massive scale, without compromising the reliability enterprise customers depend on.Needed:-> Deep, long-standing Rust expertise, you've been writing production Rust for years and know it cold-> Obsessive about latency and throughput at a level most engineers don't operate at-> Strong instinct for stability: you balance ambitious change against reliability in live, high-volume systemsMajor bonus if you've led a codebase migration to Rust before or have a track record shipping performance-critical systems.Onsite in San Francisco or remote US/Canada.DM me for a warm intro.
