We are seeking an experienced Safety & Health Unit Head to join our Facility Management team within the Shared Services Department.Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Safety & Health Unit Head will be responsible for protecting the organization’s people, premises, and assets by developing and implementing effective workplace safety, fire protection, emergency response, visitor management, and security programs.The successful candidate will oversee safety and security operations, conduct inspections and risk assessments, coordinate emergency and evacuation drills, manage preventive maintenance activities for safety systems, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.This role is ideal for a proactive safety and security professional with strong leadership capabilities, sound operational judgment, and proven experience managing workplace risks and emergency preparedness within a corporate environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety and Health Management• Develop, implement, and continuously improve workplace safety and health policies, procedures, and operational standards.• Identify workplace hazards and assess risks affecting employees, visitors, facilities, and organizational assets.• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.• Recommend and follow up on preventive and corrective actions to reduce workplace risks.• Promote a strong safety culture and encourage employee compliance with established procedures.• Monitor safety performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.• Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, company requirements, and industry standards.Fire Safety• Develop and implement fire prevention, protection, and emergency-response procedures.• Plan and conduct regular fire drills to enhance employee awareness and emergency readiness.• Inspect fire alarms, extinguishers, suppression systems, emergency exits, and related equipment.• Ensure that fire-safety equipment is properly maintained, available, and functioning effectively.• Coordinate with relevant authorities and service providers regarding fire-safety requirements.• Monitor fire-system inspections, certifications, maintenance records, and corrective actions.• Investigate fire-safety observations and ensure identified issues are resolved promptly.Emergency Preparedness and Evacuation• Develop, maintain, and regularly update emergency-response and evacuation plans.• Conduct safety-awareness sessions, emergency drills, and evacuation training for employees.• Coordinate with emergency services and first responders for training and response activities.• Assign and train emergency-response teams, floor wardens, and evacuation coordinators.• Evaluate drill performance, evacuation time, employee participation, and overall preparedness.• Document drill outcomes and implement recommendations for improvement.• Support an effective organizational response during emergencies and critical incidents.Visitor and Access Management• Manage visitor registration and access to the organization’s premises.• Ensure visitors receive the appropriate access authorization and are accompanied when required.• Coordinate with security personnel to monitor visitor activity and maintain accurate visitor logs.• Ensure access cards and visitor permits are issued efficiently and in accordance with approved procedures.• Respond professionally to visitor inquiries and provide assistance when needed.• Review visitor-management processes and recommend improvements to access control, accuracy, and efficiency.Security Management• Develop and implement security policies and procedures to protect personnel, premises, information, and physical assets.• Coordinate with internal security teams and external security providers to ensure effective coverage.• Conduct security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability reviews.• Monitor access-control arrangements and ensure security measures are consistently applied.• Respond to security incidents, lead investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions.• Track security incidents and ensure timely resolution and proper documentation.• Evaluate security-service performance and recommend improvements when required.Preventive Maintenance of Safety Systems• Manage preventive maintenance programs for fire-protection systems and other safety equipment.• Ensure that all safety and emergency systems remain operational, compliant, and up to date.• Coordinate maintenance schedules with internal teams, contractors, and specialized service providers.• Monitor equipment inspections, testing, maintenance activities, and certification requirements.• Maintain an accurate inventory of safety equipment, emergency supplies, and replacement items.• Minimize safety-equipment downtime and follow up on maintenance issues until resolution.Leadership and Stakeholder Coordination• Lead and guide the Safety and Health team and coordinate daily operational priorities.• Collaborate with the Facility Manager, Human Resources, and other internal departments.• Manage relationships with safety and security providers, visitors, emergency services, and relevant external parties.• Provide technical advice and guidance regarding safety, security, and emergency preparedness.• Ensure clear communication and coordination during emergencies and critical incidents.• Undertake special projects and additional assignments as requested by the leadership team.Reporting and Continuous Improvement• Prepare accurate and timely safety, security, incident, inspection, and performance reports.• Maintain records of training sessions, emergency drills, inspections, incidents, and maintenance activities.• Monitor safety and security KPIs and communicate performance updates to management.• Analyze incidents, inspection findings, and operational trends to identify areas for improvement.• Ensure departmental reports comply with company policies, standards, and reporting requirements.Qualifications and Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in security management, Business Administration, or a related field.• Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in safety and security management, preferably within a corporate or organizational environment.• Strong knowledge of workplace safety, fire protection, emergency response, access control, and security operations.• Demonstrated experience conducting safety inspections, security audits, drills, training sessions, and incident investigations.• Experience managing safety systems, preventive maintenance activities, contractors, and external service providers.• Good understanding of relevant safety, fire, security, and regulatory requirements.• Professional certification in security management or occupational safety, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP), is desirable.• Strong leadership, communication, reporting, and stakeholder-management skills.• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to respond calmly and effectively during emergencies.•
