Safety Manager

Role Overview Bainona Engineering Consultancy is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead the HSE function for a construction supervision project, provide assurance to project leadership and oversee contractor compliance with approved HSE requirements.Key Responsibilities·       Lead and manage the supervision team's HSE function and coordinate priorities with the Project Manager and Resident Engineer.·       Review the contractor's HSE plan, organization, procedures, emergency arrangements and environmental controls and provide recommendations.·       Review risk assessments, method statements, permit-to-work arrangements, lifting plans and other high-risk work controls from an HSE perspective.·       Monitor contractor compliance with the contract, applicable UAE requirements, Client standards and approved project HSE procedures.·       Plan and lead HSE audits and inspections, assign follow-up actions and verify timely and effective close-out.·       Oversee monitoring of high-risk activities including work at height, lifting, excavation, temporary works, energization and confined-space work.·       Review incident, near-miss and dangerous-occurrence investigations and verify root causes, corrective actions and lessons learned.·       Track HSE KPIs, trends, violations and leading indicators and issue clear periodic reports and escalation notices to project leadership.·       Chair or participate in HSE meetings and advise the Client and project management on significant risks and required interventions.·       Promote consistent HSE awareness, emergency preparedness and competency across the supervision team and monitor contractor training performance.·       Verify completion and handover of HSE records, outstanding corrective actions, statutory documentation and project lessons learned.Key RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline, with a recognized HSE qualification such as NEBOSH or equivalent preferred.Strong knowledge of UAE construction HSE requirements, ISO 45001, auditing, incident investigation, emergency management and high-risk construction activities.Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience.Minimum of 5 years of relevant GCC experience.Minimum of 5 years of experience with an engineering consultancy in construction supervision.Relevant experience on Residential Buildings projects.Working knowledge of Abu Dhabi codes and regulations.
