Job PurposeTo ensure a safe working environment across all depot operations by implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards. The Safety Officer is responsible for preventing workplace incidents, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture within the depotKey ResponsibilitiesConduct daily safety inspections in operational areas including container yards, gates, stacking zones, rail operations, workshops, and maintenance areas.Ensure compliance with company HSSE policies and local Saudi safety regulations.Investigate accidents, incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions.Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.Maintain safety documentation including risk assessments, incident reports, emergency plans, and safety statistics.Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Coordinate emergency response drills, evacuation exercises, and fire safety programs.Verify that operational equipment such as forklifts, reach stackers, trucks, and lifting equipment have valid inspections and certifications.Conduct routine audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.Ensure contractor compliance with depot safety requirements before commencement of work.Liaise with government authorities, ports, rail operators, and regulatory bodies regarding safety inspections and compliance matters.Monitor environmental compliance including waste management, spill prevention, and hazardous material handling.Prepare and submit monthly HSSE reports and KPI dashboards.QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent is preferred.ExperienceMinimum 2 to 3 years of HSE experience in logistics, container depots, terminals, warehousing, transport, or industrial operations.Knowledge, Skills & CompetenciesKnowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.Strong understanding of Saudi safety regulations and industry standards.Incident investigation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills.Risk assessment and hazard identification expertise.Ability to conduct safety training and promote a positive safety culture.Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Knowledge of depot traffic management, container handling operations, and heavy equipment safety.
