Safety Officer

Job Description:Position: Safety OfficerLocation: Dubai, UAEContract Duration: 1 YearAbout the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Officer to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have experience in the elevator industry and a strong understanding of UAE health, safety, and environmental regulations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment across installation, maintenance, and modernization projects.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.Ensure compliance with UAE safety regulations and company safety standards.Monitor elevator installation, maintenance, and modernization activities to ensure safe work practices.Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for employees and subcontractors.Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.Maintain HSE documentation, records, permits, and reports.Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills.Identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities on safety-related matters.Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety requirements.RequirementsDiploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably within the elevator industry.NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification is preferred.Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and industry best practices.Valid UAE Driving License (Mandatory).Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Strong reporting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple project sites.Preferred Candidate ProfileExperience with elevator installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning projects.Hands-on experience in conducting safety audits and inspections.Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of enforcing safety standards effectively.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to train and influence teams.Immediate joiners or candidates available on short notice will be preferred.
