Role OverviewWe’re looking for a results-driven Sales & Marketing Specialist to grow our verified user base. Your core mandate: bring in new customers, convert them through signup, get them through verification (KYC tiers), and drive them to actively transact on the platform. This is a revenue-and activation-focused role, not a brand-awareness role — success is measured in verified, paying, transacting users.Key Responsibilities • Identify and prospect farmers, traders, and agribusinesses who fit Cafers target segments (poultry, general produce, cross-border traders) • Drive top-of-funnel signups through field outreach, digital campaigns, referral networks, and partnerships • Guide prospects through the KYC/verification process (NIN/BVN, trade history, CAC for export-facing trades) to completion — including finalizing their verification fee • Own conversion from “signed up” to “verified and actively transacting,” troubleshooting drop-off points in the funnel • Execute WhatsApp, email, and social media campaigns to nurture leads (building on existing campaign infrastructure) • Represent Cafers at markets, cooperatives, trade associations, and agricultural events to build trust and pipeline • Track and report signup, verification, and transaction conversion metrics; recommend funnel improvements • Gather customer feedback to inform product and onboarding improvements • Support cross-border partner and vendor onboarding as needed (Nigeria–Benin–Ghana corridor).Qualifications & Requirements • Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or Agricultural Economics is a strong advantage • 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, or growth marketing, ideally in fintech, agtech, e-commerce, or a transaction-based platform • Proven track record of hitting signup, conversion, or revenue targets (not just leads/impressions) • Strong in-person and phone sales skills — comfortable prospecting farmers, traders, and SMEs directly • Working knowledge of KYC/verification processes (BVN/NIN, tiered onboarding) is a strong plus • Digital marketing competence: WhatsApp Business, email campaigns, basic social media management • Excellent communication skills in English; Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, or French (for Benin corridor) a plus • Comfortable using CRM/lead-tracking tools and reporting on funnel metrics • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and hit weekly/monthly conversion targets • Understanding of Nigerian agricultural trade, farmer cooperatives, or export logistics is a strong advantage • Willingness to travel locally/regionally for field sales and events.Diversity & InclusionCafers is committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve, particularly the women who play a central role in African agricultural trade. We strongly encourage qualified female candidates to apply. Cafers is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates. What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days) • A defined, repeatable outreach process generating consistent qualified signups • Measurable improvement in signup-to-paid-verification conversion rate • A cohort of verified users actively transacting on Cafers • Clean, regular reporting on funnel performance.Compensation & Benefits • Base salary (commensurate with experience) + performance-based commission tied to verified signups and transaction volume
