Sales Application Engineer

Job SummaryThe Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and engineering solutions to customers by understanding their power generation requirements and recommending the most suitable generator sets (gensets), associated electrical systems, and related equipment.The role serves as the technical bridge between the sales, engineering, and project teams, supporting equipment selection, proposal preparation, and customer engagement while ensuring the delivery of technically compliant and cost-effective power generation solutions across the Eastern Province and throughout Saudi Arabia.Work LocationEastern Province – Al Khobar City(Travel across Saudi Arabia is required)Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate generator set (genset), power generation, and electrical engineering solutions.Select and size generator sets and associated equipment based on customer requirements, project specifications, applicable standards, and operational needs.Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and tender documentation for power generation solutions.Review project specifications, electrical drawings, and technical documents to ensure compliance with customer and project requirements.Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers and the sales team regarding generator sets and related equipment.Support the sales team during customer meetings by providing technical expertise and recommending suitable products and solutions.Conduct product presentations, technical demonstrations, and customer training sessions.Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain technical information, equipment specifications, and product documentation.Support the evaluation, selection, and configuration of generators, alternators, control panels, synchronization systems, ATS panels, and related accessories.Assist in resolving technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.Maintain technical documentation, application records, and project files.Stay updated on industry standards, emerging technologies, and competitor products within the power generation industry.Perform other duties assigned by management.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an Application Engineer, Sales/Application Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or in a similar role within the power generation industry.Strong understanding of diesel and gas generator sets, electrical power generation systems, alternators, generator control systems, synchronization, ATS panels, and related electrical equipment.Experience in equipment selection, sizing, and application engineering for generator sets and associated systems.Experience preparing technical proposals and reviewing engineering specifications.Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant engineering software.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in the power generation or electrical equipment industry.Experience supporting technical sales, equipment selection, product applications, and engineering solutions for generator sets.Ability to interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, and applicable standards.Strong customer relationship, presentation, and communication skills.Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written).Willingness to travel within the Eastern Province and across Saudi Arabia as required.Valid Saudi driving license.Strong organizational, time-management, and teamwork skills.How to ApplyInterested candidates are invited to submit their updated CV to Careers@asasaljood.com with the subject line "Application Engineer ".Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
