We partner with customers across industries to deliver reliable, innovative products—supported by strong technical expertise and a collaborative, customer-focused culture.About the RoleThe Sales Engineer plays a key role in bridging technical expertise with customer needs, supporting the development and delivery of cable and harness solutions. This position is responsible for working with customers and internal teams to develop designs, propose improvements, and ensure successful execution throughout the product lifecycle. This role requires strong collaboration across engineering, sales, purchasing, and production teams to ensure products are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet customer requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, design, and propose improvements to cable and harness assembly solutionsSupport and help oversee the product lifecycle, from concept through production and deliveryEvaluate project feasibility and ensure all resources are in place for successful manufacturingCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, purchasing, and sales teamsAssist with RFQs, quoting, and technical proposalsHandle and resolve customer issues and complaints from a technical perspectiveReview and support creation of engineering drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials (BOMs)Recommend appropriate materials, connectors, contacts, and cable componentsEnsure alignment between customer expectations and internal capabilitiesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent technical experience)Experience with cable assemblies, wire harnesses, or electromechanical products preferredUnderstanding of manufacturing processes (metal, plastics, or industrial environments)Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsExperience with CAD systems such as Autodesk Inventor or similar is a plusStrong problem-solving skills with a focus on practical, cost-effective solutionsExcellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers and internal teamsWhy Join Components Express?Opportunity to work on custom, application-driven projectsHigh visibility role with impact across sales, engineering, and operationsCollaborative and supportive team environmentGrowing company with strong customer relationships and industry presenceCompetitive compensation and growth opportunities
